The One With The Rebirth

Posted in Other Things, Randoms, Wonderful Things on October 23, 2009 by steve maestro

IT’S ALIVEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!

… okay, so this would be the second or third or fourth attempts at restarting this blog after the same amount of attempts to give it up. What can I say? I guess, I just have this love-hate relationship with my blog.

As mentioned here in this supposed-to-end-here-and-now post, I wanted to turn this blog into some toy collection thing, that in years to come you will be able to find it in hidden areas in your store room. You would rip the dusty packaging apart and find all the toys (the broken and not broken ones) that you used to entertain yourselves with as a child. Sweet memories and good old times will suddenly flash back in your head.

And then you start to wonder, how you wish to be a kid once again. Living the carefree life. Couldn’t care less about the world and all the politics and what nots.

The truth is, we can’t reverse time and revert back to being kids once again. But what we can do to preserve the eternal child within us is to look at things on a brighter note. There are ups and downs in life, but if we always see the glass as half empty and not half full, we will always be stuck with the mentality of trying to fill the other half of the glass. Instead of making up all these stories about prodigies and nonsense.

I’m not trying to do anything out of this blog (I wouldn’t mind if I can get a quarter of what Kenny Sia is getting!), but my main purpose of restarting this blog is so that I could use it count my blessings, before or the ones to come. I guess this will be my take in life from now on.

Sorry blog, no champagne or anything to celebrate your return.

lamfootseng.wordpress.com is back!

The One With The Defibrillator Sessions

“Okay clear!”

*zaps*

“Check for pulse… wait for it… okay another one. Clear!”

*zaps*

Surrounded by eternal darkness… however, a ray of light bursts into the darkness, lighting up a small path that leads out of the darkness.

The blog will be back. Soon.

The One With The Tag and Updates

Posted in Other Things, Tagged on December 6, 2008 by steve maestro

It seems like I’ve abandoned this blog… even I myself would find myself asking the same question, “do I really care about this blog anymore?”

No I’m not making a move to another site, or going to host my own site like my friend here , I’ve just been really, really busy. Although I’m currently in my 2 month break from my studies, I still found myself catching up with meetings and so on.

Anyways, I’m done with my part time job in Nielsen, and just when I want to catch a moment for a breather, suddenly I just got more stuff to handle than ever before.

Anyways, some quick updates:

1) Been busy with meetings for our UCSI’s UniFest event. What is it? Well all I could say for now is that it is gonna be AWESOME. Coming next year January. Watch this space… or Facebook.

2) Been busy with meetings for UCSI’s CF’s Easter Rally. What is it? It’s a rally. And yes it’s gonna be AWESOME too. Coming next year March. Watch this space… or Facebook.

3) Been busy with this songwriting competition, as mentioned earlier HERE. Never thought that our team would be chosen for the finals (from now on I can use this for my ‘music’ resume: Finalists for MRSC competition 2008, sounds so cool right?). So if you’re watching this, you have about a few more hours to help us with your kind sms votes before it closes tomorrow (Sunday) night. So for a quickie (this would cost you RM0.50 though, no biggie right? Right?), type ‘H’ and send it to 33225. Honestly, not expecting to win, but gonna go there and play my heart out with the other awesome band members David, Ian, Aaron and Marcus.

4) Missing you. You know who you are.

5) And I’ve been tagged. By Jessica. Not been doing a tag for long. Doing a tag makes me satisfy my LOA needs (read: Lack Of Attention).
1. At what age do you wish to marry?
I’ve always thought the perfect age to get married will be around 27 or 28.

2. What is your most favourite thing to do?
Sit around and do nothing. And oh, currently I’m so hooked on Hells Kitchen.

3. What is your 1 regret in life?
I have many regrets in my life, but educational wise, it would have been the Form 6. Wasted my two years. Learnt nothing and indeed a waste of my time.

4. Who inspires you?
Unsung heroes and people who are taken for granted all the time. Also, those who are brave enough to stand for what they believe in.

5. Tell us something I don’t know about you
I can sleep for 24 hours straight. I could. Tried it.

6. Do you believe you can survive without money?
Money is the root to all evil. But without money you can’t do anything. But ultimately I would not become a slave for money.

7. What are you afraid to lose the most?
People’s trust in me. My confidence. Loved ones.

8. What do you feel like doing, right now?
Sleep. It’s 3am right now. And I’m still doing this ridiculous tag.

9. If you can get out of your current life circumstance, would you?
Who wouldn’t? But that would go against God’s plans. So no.

10. List out 3 good points of the person who tagged you.
3 good points would not be enough to describe Jess. But if I have to do it, she’s intelligent, she’s responsible and she’s a nice person. See, so undermining. But she’s a great person.

11. What are the requirements that you wish from your other half?
Someone who could take me as I am. And love me for who I am.

12. What is the thing that will make you think he/she is bad?
Foul mouthed, heavy party/club goer. I’m sorry but I really hate clubs. Pointless and ridiculous.

13. What is your ambition?
To be a better person everyday of my life.

14. Is anyone really perfect?
Nope. God is not a person, He’s an entity. So nope, no one is perfect.

15. If you had a choice to be rich or happy, which one would you pick ?
Happy.

16. If you have a chance, which part of your character you would like to change?.
Lack of self confidence. The world hates fat people right? …see?! I’m at it again!

17. Who is the person (people) that you can share all your problems with?
Mum and my other half.

18. How do you see yourself in 10 years time?
Hopefully married with a career, a house, two cars for myself and my missus, still playing music for church and gigs.

19. What is the one thing you love about yourself?
I dunno… I make people laugh?

20. What is your dream job?
Staying at home doing nothing and getting paid for doing nothing.

The end. Good night folks.

The One With The Question

Posted in My experiences, Other Things on June 2, 2008 by steve maestro

Doesn’t this scene reminds you of The Office?

Anyways, I have been thinking hard over this certain issue. How does one define achieving happiness? Our answers might be all different, but in the end, isn’t it the same in achieving happiness?

My question to you is, how do YOU define achieving happiness in your life?

The One With The Life So Far & Exciting Two Weeks Ahead!

Posted in My experiences, Other Things, Wonderful Things on May 14, 2008 by steve maestro

College resumed with it’s second semester, and boy it is starting to shape up to be a good semester already… at least for now it is. One thing I should note is that, I’m really enjoying myself in my mass communication studies.

After leaving my previous campus life behind (click HERE and HERE), I kinda thought to myself that it would be hard to go back to campus life and things like that. And it became tougher when I worked sometime last year, thinking how could I adjust back to campus and being a student. I kinda knew I’m gonna head to UCSI to further my studies before I actually started working, but the thought of it just scares me. How on earth am I gonna be able to gel in with all these people? Not to mention half of these people are younger than me?

Only one thing I can say so far…

IT WAS AWESOME!!!

I wouldn’t say “Gosh I wished I could have come in earlier to experience all this!”, cuz I think somehow, in one way or another, the whole timing and process it took to actually land my big butt in UCSI were needed. Meaning… I don’t think I could enjoy what I’m enjoying now even if I were to come in earlier to UCSI. On another note, Prakash, Jon and myself played for this music performance thing in campus this noon called ‘The Hive’. It was good and kudos to the rest who played too (Matthew and Djeznna’s Stalker). So for those of you who is interested in participating or want to know more information please email to thehive.ucsi@gmail.com. It’ll be a fortnight thing, Wednesdays in UCSI Lobby area.

On another note… I’ve got a busy yet exciting and fun two weeks ahead! It goes like this:

17th to 19th= Church Camp in Port Dickson
21st= Champions League Final!!! Anybody wanna watch together?
Between 22nd to 23rd= Arrival of Osim Massage Chair (oh how I long for a massage chair…MSN status would be set to ‘Away’ all the time…)
24th to 26th= Businessmen&Professional camp thingy in Cherating, Kuantan. Going as part of the CF crew. Woo hoo~~
28th= Hillsongs United in GTPJ!!! If you’ve not heard of it yet, click HERE.

So yeah, it is a fun two week ahead! Lots of things to look forward to, especially the Cherating one, as I really need a holiday. And I have church camp before that, so double holiday! Yay me!!!

Okay, I’m getting cranky now so… that’s it.

The One Where I Got My Ear Pierced

Posted in Emo Moments, My experiences, Other Things on March 4, 2008 by steve maestro

Finally, the time has come for yours truly to get his first ear pierce. Hopefully it’ll be the last one as I don’t wanna end up looking like some freak with metal pieces on the parts of my face next time.

picture-2.png

That’s the one. It’s not a stick on magnet thing or what if you’re thinking it is…

Have to leave it for at least a week before I can put the real one on, it’s a ring shaped one and it should… should, look good. If not… I’m gonna be emo…

Ok, so the whole thing nearly didn’t took place cuz of Her Highness JoJo, nearly FFK-ing (NOTE:FFK refers to ‘Fong Fei Kei’, which in loose translation from Cantonese to English means ‘Letting The Airplane Go’, but when mentioned to someone in particular, it actually means that he/she is breaking his/her promise. Adding the -ing at the back makes it into a verb, thus FFK-ing) yours truly. I’m a hopeless freak when it comes to directions and therefore I need the assistance of Her Highness to follow me and guide me to the place (and since she loves to see people getting tortured, all the more she wants to follow me, but when the time came this afternoon she nearly FFK-ed (again, adding -ed at the back indicates that it’s past tense, and the act had been done) me, so, think of how I felt at the moment).

I was like…

picture-3.png

picture from kennysia.com. A disclaimer so that he won’t sue me… haha…

Yeah that’s how I felt. First, convinced me that I should go with her. Fine. Why? I don’t know, maybe she really has a fetish of seeing someone getting tortured. And when the time comes,  “U like lah. U wanna go then u go la. I nak tengok fashion show”…

But anyways, Her Highness got scared and she persuaded me in turn to go get it done. Fine. Lei kong sai lor (NOTE: another Cantonese proverb. Loose translation from Cantonese to English means ‘You Say Everything’, meaning no equality and unfairness in his/her speech/action). Off to Leisure Mall…

…and to the piercing place. Was bothered by the thoughts of a bleeding ear or a swollen ear at the hands of two young Chinese girls, but what the heck, went ahead with it. As emotions starts to materialize in forms of cold sweats and grimaces on my face, and as the piercing girl said “Leady ah… leady… 1…2…”……..

(sounds from the environment and the radio from their shop)

And then I realized, and said “Huh??? Finish already???”

It was painless. I could feel something rubbing my ear and that’s it. I didn’t even knew it was over until Her Highness started laughing and said “hehehhe pain or not? wakakaka….”….

It was fast. Painless. And it costs me 35 bucks. 10 for the piercing and 25 for the ring shaped ear ring.

Hmm… since it is so painless… I might consider getting it at some other parts of my body too… not! Ok, now the after effects…

1) There’s this feeling of something constantly ‘biting’ my left ear lobe. It’s not painful but just plain irritating.

2) As it is considered as an open wound, though it is pretty much covered by a piece of metal stick in between, it is still open to the countless bacterias and germs all over the place. I was so paranoid with it I kept wiping it off with a tissue paper, only to realize that the tissue paper was from the time I wiped my sweat off. Thus adding more germs to it…

3) Came home and showered, while the earlobe was treated with disinfectant aka Dettol. In a bid to get rid of the germs, I practically soaked the whole lobe with Dettol. As if the wound is mocking at me for treating it with disinfectant much later than it’s supposed to… I:

4) Am having a slight fever now. Had to turn off the air con. And the ceiling fan is at level 2 now, which at any given night would mean ‘Turn that air cond on as I’m melting!!!”. I feel pathetic and sad now…

So there it is, the experience of getting my ear pierced. Would you wanna share yours? Minus the ‘Her Highness FFK-ing part’, cuz I know it only happens to me. Poor me. First that. Now this. Sigh…

The One With The Change of Theme

Posted in Other Things, Randoms on February 23, 2008 by steve maestro

Changes… some are good, some not.

I’ve always liked my old blog theme. Lots of people commented about it and said how it reminded them of some old, classic letter kinda look and feel. For me, it is easy to manage and looks neat, the opposite of what I really am.

So I’ve decided to change my blog’s theme into this black colored background, striking text kinda theme… cuz… black has always been my favorite color, and I like how this theme looks like.

So to all my readers who have a problem with this:

photo-9.jpg

Nah, I’m just kidding… in fact:

So please let me know if the theme suits you… cuz I really want to get more hits and readership by pleasing you guys you guys are the most important of all to me…

So please continue to support:
