The One Where The Special Ain’t The Special One No More

Posted in Football News on September 20, 2007 by steve maestro

Yes folks, it’s confirmed…

To all Chelsea supporters, don’t frown… there will always be another ‘Special One’ to appear out of nowhere to take control… but it still won’t work cuz Manchester United will still woop your sorry arses bottoms…

To all Liverpool supporters, err, won’t make any difference for you guys anyway, you all are still light years behind. Try again a few seasons from now…

To all Tottenham supporters, for Ferguson’s sake, just sell Dimitar Berbatov to Manchester United! Oh… and yeah, as much as Liverpool are light years behind, you guys are light years behind the light years of Liverpool. Try again… actually, just don’t try, don’t waste your time…

To the rest of the clubs, whatever… keep ‘fighting’ for survival! Cuz you guys are waaaaaaaaayyyy behind….

Oh sorry, this post is for the ‘Special One’, Mr Jose Mourinho…

jose-mourinho.jpg

Well, like what Jon said, he had his moments there. Delivering their first Premier League crown in over 50 years, repeating the feat for the following season, amongst other cups and stuff that he won, I must say that yes, he is indeed a very talented manager. Though he is arrogant, and always look like he needs a shower badly, I’m sure he’ll still be a good football manager somewhere else. And oh yes, please learn your lesson Jose, and that is don’t succumb to money! You learned this the HARD way from where you once belonged…

pic354.jpg

Kezman (player in blue): Boss! You are gonna get fired if you keep doing your silly dance when we score goals!

Jose: Hey you! Watch your language, or somebody’s gonna get a hurt real bad. I’m not telling who, but somebody… I think you know the person VERY WELL…..

.

.

.

That person is you Jose. (whip lash sound)

However ‘Special’ you are Jose, you are no longer… ‘Special’ now…

CUZ YOU’RE FIRED FROM CHELSEA!!!!!!

(this is for the sake of people who don’t follow football and needs the word ‘FIRED’ to make them understand better)

Funny song. PLEASE. YOU HAVE TO WATCH THIS.

The One Where Dave&Nechelle Are Getting Married

Posted in Emo Moments, Friends on September 15, 2007 by steve maestro

Free publicity for my dear friend’s wedding here (not that they need it…)!

Time really passes by so, so, so quickly. In a blink of an eye, my friends are getting married one by one. My former classmate got married last year, and I’m a bad guy with poor memory cuz I forgot his name actually… my friend Lemuel got married like 2-3 years ago, but it still felt like it’s recent (he and his wife, Melanie, are expecting a child soon! Way to go! Haha..).

And now it’s my other friend, David’s turn to get married.  All I can say is… I’m really, really happy for you. If you’re reading this Dave, I just want you to know that you’ve always been kind of a brother figure to me. So, I’m really happy that such a joyous and wonderful thing is gonna happen to your life. And to Nechelle too, if she’s reading this… by the way Dave, the pictures on your ‘WEDDING SITE’ looks great and lovely.

Here’s to Dave and Nechelle’s union.

Oh so lovely…

Well, sort of knew about the wedding a while ago, but another wedding will take place again. It’s another one of my former classmate. It’s pretty shocking cuz she’s only 22 years old, but she’s getting married. Of course, we are all very happy for her. But it’s pretty bad timing for me, cuz her wedding dinner clashes with my church camp. I have to go back and forth between these two events…

So, here’s to the weddings and all. To my friend… to Dave and Nechelle… and to Lemuel and Melanie… 2-3 years overdue.

Ah… so blissful. Weddings are a good thing. Especially when you hold them dear to your heart. And I do hold them dear to my heart…

And I have to go now… gotta get prepared for church…

The One Where Marcus Turned A Year Older

Posted in Friends on September 11, 2007 by steve maestro

Birthdays are always good. You become a year older, you get birthday wishes from your friends and family, you get lots of presents and all the thingamajig. But it’s only meaningful if it is spent to the fullest. It’s not only about gifts (though to some people it is, and that is a sad thing I say), or about wishes.

It is when a friend or a loved one remembers you when your birthday approaches, it is when they do things for you, whether big or small, out of their sincere hearts and desires, in true honor and gratitude, appreciating you for what you’ve done for them, and ultimately, appreciating you as a friend.

Dude, I don’t know what did you thought of us, dragging you out of the bed while you’re sleeping, blindfolding you and drove you to some place which you’re not sure of (cuz you were blindfolded then), and then dropped you off in the middle of nowhere, leaving you with nothing but a SpongeBob Squarepants soft toy, and gave you directions to… the bak kut teh stall in Kepong.

But dude, just to let you know, I am glad to have you as a friend, as a brother, as a loved one. 8 years of friendship, and counting. You’re one heck of a guy, and one heck of a friend.

Here’s to your birthday (I’m not revealing your age here, you can thank me later…), and also to a great friend, and to our love for everything Mac, music, Japanese chicks, Bleach, and of course… God.

Don’t worry bro, next time you’ll have my equipments case to carry, instead of Terry’s, haha…

The One Where Pavarotti Says Goodbye…

Posted in Uncategorized on September 6, 2007 by steve maestro

…for good. He’s not retiring like Solksjaer did, but Luciano Pavarotti, one of the greatest and perhaps the most successful opera performer ever, passed away at 5 am, last Thursday, in his home in Modena, Italy.

Well, I have to be honest. I don’t really listen to operas or anything close to that on a frequent basis, my only memory of remembering a opera song would be “Time To Say Goodbye”, and it’s not even by Pavarotti, it’s by Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman. Though I have a bit of a memory, when I was a kid I used to watch Pavarotti perform live on the television, and my parents would be like… “Tseng, turn that off! What is that?”, but I’m just taken aback by the serenity, the power and the fluidity of Pavarotti’s performances…

More on Luciano Pavarotti please click HERE .

Pavarotti had passed away due to a long term fight with pancreatic cancer, which he suffered about a year ago. He was surrounded by his wife and his four daughters when he had passed on… a rather peaceful way to end his remarkable career and 71 years of life.

Here’s to Luciano Pavarotti (October 12, 1935 – September 6, 2007). May your works be remembered for times to come.2007_09_06t012232_450x315_us_pavarotti_health.jpg

The One Where I’m Hellbent To Lose The Blardy Weight!!!!!

Posted in My experiences, Rants&Crap on September 5, 2007 by steve maestro

Man, I dunno how many umpteenth times I’ve said this… but… but… but… I MUST LOSE WEIGHT!! Damn it!

So, I figure, what would be the best way to lose the junk… by posting it here! So that everyone would know about it, thus pressuring myself to do it…

Yes, folks… please, be like Prakash now, and tell me to control my food intake… encourage me to sports and games (video games does not count and badminton cannot be played alone), and please, for my sake, stop bringing me to Murni SS2!!

Maybe I should have one last ‘proper’ meal before I plunge into this act…

Maybe tomorrow after my cell group… my last supper…

Okay so now, I’ll chart my progress every now and then…

Here goes the first part of the painful fact:

Current Weight: 109kg

Yep… that’s how much I weigh now…

Okay, need to start small right? Waking up later at 6 for my jogs, and dropping my breakfast and lunch. One last proper meal, my dinner/supper, for tomorrow night, and that’s it for the ‘proper’ meal…

The One With A Person Playing Three Guitars At Once…

Posted in Uncategorized on September 5, 2007 by steve maestro

Yep, no kidding… load the video and check it out…

Yeah, what next? Four guitar at one time… with the fourth one being the other foot?….. now that’s interesting…

But this guy is awesome (I believe his name is Sam, judging by his website, samtriggy.com ). There’s a comment in his video which said… “This guy can probably play like Vai or Satriani, but can they play like him? I don’t think so!”

I think so too…

And as much as I like to play three guitars at a time, I think I’ll just stick to one guitar… pretty unhygienic by using your feet to play the third guitar, don’t you think?

The One With The Running Zombies, and It’s Freaking Scary!

Posted in Movies, Ridiculous things on September 3, 2007 by steve maestro

Or, maybe not zombies, but the INFECTED ones, as they were called in the movie, 28 DAYS LATER, and 28 WEEKS LATER…

Now, why would I be afraid of ZOMBIES (in case you didn’t know, zombies are supposedly dead humans coming back from the dead again, and supposedly craves for human flesh and blood)? I mean, there’s no need to be afrad of them right? They are slow, they can’t even walk straight. I bet they can’t see perfectly as well, as their eyes would be covered in blood or some goo or something… look, point is… there’s no need to be afraid of zombies. You can easily run away from them, even if they were in a group. And even if they come at you, just prepare yourself with a baseball bat or something and just whack their heads off. There’s no need to be afraid…

Until now…

Yes, it’s really scary as hell. Directed by DANNY BOYLE, the brains behind another exceptional movie science fiction movie, Sunshine, Boyle really reinvents the whole fear for zombies/things that looks like zombies. He took away the things that made zombies so seemingly harmless creatures, their poor sense of direction, their whole ‘blur’ factor, and yes, the ability to RUN!!! I mean, those are exactly what these zombies, or called Infected, as in the movie, needed.

Synopsis ahead (skip this part if you want to watch the movie)

Some scientist freaks decided to come up with some virus or something called RAGE (ever noticed that all bad things happens when a scientist decides to do some crazy, random stuff?, and had injected it into a bunch of chimpanzees for experiments. Some animal activists group came in and broke the containment glass, thus releasing the infected chimp, thus killing everyone including the researcher himself (yeah I know, damn stupid right?).

So, some 28 days later, the main character, Jim (Cillian Murphy, who btw is so hot. I think I’m falling for him.. even though I’m straight), wakes up from his coma in this hospital in London. When he soon discovers he’s the only one left in the whole of London at that time, some Infected ones managed to find him (actually, it’s more like Jim found them, since he’s the one who went to the chapel first), and was rescued by 2 other survivors, or Un-infected ones.

And so the story goes on and on, read it HERE… too lazy to type it out…

And so the story for 28 Days Later ended. But it was scary… I could not sleep that very night I watched it… ok, so I have a fear for the Infected ones… but I never thought it would be this scary…

And then I saw this…

A sequel to 28 Days Later. And so… I thought, maybe I won’t be as scared as previously, like they say, what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger right? Or so… I thought to myself then..

Synopsis (skip this if you want to watch it for yourself as well)

Story picks up where 28 Days Later ended… after 28 weeks, the Infected had died of starvation (the only known weakness of the Infected ones… is that they don’t know how to eat!), the whole of UK was quarantined and after 28 weeks later, was re-opened and ready for reconstruction process.

But before all that, the story starts with this group of survivors… in a rural countryside cottage, heavily guarded and protected from the outside world. Suddenly there’s this kid outside who shouted for help, and the group decided to get the kid in… only for the Infected ones to discover ther hideout, and started their whole Infecting process. A man called Don, selfishly and narrowly escaped through the river by the cottage on the speedboat, leaving his wife, the kid who cried for help, and the group of survivors behind…

And so, after that, Tammy (Imogen Poots, who is such a hot babe!) and Andy returned from somewhere, back to UK after that quarantined period, to meet up with their father, Don.

All is well, until the US forces (yes, the US forces formed a NATO group to stay in UK for protection and eradication) found Alice, Don’s forsaken wife. She’s infected by the RAGE virus, but she’s somehow immune to it. As the scientists prepares to do some research on Alice, on the possibility that she might be the cure for the RAGE virus, Don had to come in and give Alice some PDA (Public Display of Affection), and thus, getting himself infected by the RAGE virus, and thus, recreating the whole 28 Days Later group of Infected ones again…

And yada yada yada… full story HERE… again, too lazy to type out…

And yes, even without the ooh-so-handsome Cillian Murphy, this movie is definitely better than the previous one. More action, more bloody Infected ones…

All is well… until…

28 Months Later.

Yes… it’s confirmed that Danny Boyle and his team will come up with 28 Months Later, making this a whole trilogy thing.

I’m still doubtful whether I would want to watch it when it comes out in theaters, but like they say… all trilogies must be complete!

Talking about trilogies being complete, I have yet to watch Pirates Of The Caribbean 3 yet…

All in all, I give these two movies two thumbs up! If I have three thumbs, then it would be three! Okay, ratings wise, I give 28 Days Later a 3.5 out of 5, and 28 Weeks Later, a strong 4 out of 5…

But… this post… is dedicated, to my fear of these running zombies… may they never, EVER appear in real world… never… ever….. never…. ever….

The One Where I’m Cursing Myself For Being Sick

Posted in Rants&Crap, Ridiculous things on September 1, 2007 by steve maestro

There’s so many things going on in church today… so many things that I promised to do… some where it needed me to be there, to help out or whatever…

But I fell sick…

Of all days to fell sick during this long holiday of mine, this stupid body of mine chose to fall sick on this particular date..

I apologize for every promise I broke…

Still… why do I have to fall sick now??!!!??!
